CC1: Connecting Cube hotel complex
An extension of the existing hotel complex is planned in the Göttingen area. The site comprises three separate building complexes from different construction phases and a large, central asphalted car park.
The rear complex houses the main building with reception area, hotel rooms and a small restaurant area. The second complex contains a further guest house, while the third building complex houses the formerly large restaurant area.
The aim is to create a harmonious, unified hotel complex and to make the routes more efficient for both staff and hotel guests. The design provides for the integration of a modern new building that merges with the existing buildings as an ensemble. New public spaces are to be created and the links between the individual buildings strengthened. A new entrance building with a strong identity, positioned between the two existing buildings, will connect the complex in a prestigious manner.
The design maximises the built-up area of the hotel complex, creates additional hotel rooms and at the same time integrates a new square for hotel guests. The central, barrier-free Cube serves as the first point of contact, with reception, café/bar and restaurant area. The former restaurant complex will be converted into contemporary boarding houses. The now continuous hotel complex brings together buildings, masterplan and landscape design in a harmonious overall concept. Integration into the existing surroundings is the focus, while the complex invites guests to discover it gradually.
